Yesterday, 16 November 2017, Gift of the Givers visited the bees rescued in June of this year during our Knysna fire response. And what a gift it was to see that they’re not only thriving but 3 times the size they were since we first rescued them.
With a deep respect for the honeybee, Dr Sooliman carefully transfers these invaluable creatures to a new hive.

Nick was very excited when we started digging the tranches of his two bedroom home after the fire in Knysna destroyed the house that he and his family was staying in for the pass 33 years. He was overjoyed and the building of the house gave him new hope.
Gift of the Givers assisted with food, water, buckets and feeding bowls daily at KAWS Animal Shelter, also assisted with water for their veterinary clinic.

For the sake of the animals the oversized bales were even hauled on the rooftop of a recipient's vehicle. Unconventional, but the Eksteenfontein recipients were determined to keep their animals fed and warm this winter.

Gift of the Givers made a donation of medical supplies to the Knysna Hospital, Department of health worth approximately R15 000.00. We also donated to military R5000.00 worth of supplies.
It commenced by diverting a 32 ton truck laden with water for Cape Town, followed by an advanced team to assess the situation, arrange logistics, transport, find a base and arrange distribution.
