Umzumbe Community Recieves Aid

Gift of the Givers distributes 105 food parcels to people affected by flooding in Umzumbe. Also handed over were blankets, mattresses, meals, rice and a bag of canned food.

Masinenge Shacks Waterlogged

All shacks at the Masinenge Informal Settlement in Margate were waterlogged. All belongings destroyed.

Shoprite Checkers and Gift of the Givers responded to the 50 people affected with soup and bread and food parcels and blankets.

Our teams had difficulty reaching the disaster site as roads were impassable due to storm damage. Roads and bridges have been washed away.

Umzinto Receives Flood Relief Aid
On Workers Day Umdoni Disaster Management reached out to Gift of the Givers for flood relief assistance. Gift of the Givers heeded the call by supplying 3 heavy duty delivery vehicles fully laden with foam mattresses, 10kg Rice, 10kg Maize meal, hygiene packs (toothpaste,sanitary towels, soaps,sunlight liquid and toothbrushes), blankets and dairy products.

Gift of the Givers assisted 250 families affected by the heavy rains in Louisiana, KZN. @Shoprite_SA arrived with their delicious soup kitchen.

Items delivered are:
Blankets, mattresses, towels, canned food, food parcels, bread, meals, roof sheeting, poles and uniforms.

Ifafa Beach Residents

A bursting river overflows into the homes of 55 Ifafa Beach families. The Gift of the Givers team arrived to find families literally picking up the pieces of their belongings.

Without potable water and electricity the families have no meals. Our team arrived in time with bottled water and food parcels for the residents.

Mudslide Kills School Caretaker

Mudslide Kills School Caretaker

The caretaker's house was situated on the school grounds at Westcliff Secondary School.
A steep bank and wall behind it collapsed onto it washing sand onto & into the house killing everyone inside. Sadly they stood no chance against the mud slide and didn't manage to get out in time. Their bodies were dug out of the mud by teams who worked through Monday night and most of Tuesday.
