Counselling is a talking therapy that allows an individual to talk about and deal with issues that cause them dis-ease. They explore uncomfortable feelings in a safe non-threatening environment in the presence and support of trained and experienced counsellors.
Our counsellors listen with empathy, respect, dignity, are non judgemental and extend warmth and acceptance. The individual is encouraged to identify issues, express feelings and emotions freely. In so doing, the counsellor can help the individual 're-gain' perspective and work towards suitable solutions which would enable them to obtain healthy functionality.
Counselling often involves talking about difficult or painful feelings which could take a number of sessions but a regular commitment is required to make the best use of the therapy.
